A little magic from The Bloom Edit
Last week, we finally got to bring The Bloom Edit to life. What a day!
One of my favorite moments involved Vivian, a sweet eight-year-old whose parents wanted to celebrate her with something truly special. She was a bit quiet at first, but when Kat asked if she wanted some curls in her hair, her face lit up. She gave a big nod and said, “Yes!”
A wall piece - what The Bloom Edit was designed for.
Her mom sat and watched while Vivian clearly had a great time with this special experience. When her hair and makeup were ready, I wrapped some soft chiffon around her to make a lovely purple dress right there on set. Her family plans to hang a framed portrait from the session in their home.
Every time I see the love that comes through when clients experience the power of a portrait, I’m reminded why I do this.
Yes, I love the beautiful styling, great light, and creative process of making a photograph. But I especially love making portraits that matter enough to become part of your home. Seeing a portrait every day lets you pause and appreciate the person in it - their importance, and the place they hold in your story.
The Bloom Edit was a one-of-a-kind floral set, and a really special experience. But every session is unique and customized in its own way. It can be shaped around your family, your personalities, and the story you want your home to tell.
Summer is a perfect time for family portraits, while school is out and schedules are a little more flexible. Before your teenager heads off to college, before your eight-year-old turns nine, before things change… schedule your next portrait session.
I have seven session openings remaining in August. If you’ve been thinking about portraits for your family, I’d love to help you make something beautiful and personal.
