The Generations Project
Capture Your Legacy
We invite you to take part in the Generations Project and create a legacy for your family. Participants’ stories are featured in our marketing, shared through photography competitions, and displayed on our studio walls. Families that participate remind us that there is common ground to be found between all of us.
This project began in early 2020. It was the start of a new decade, and many of us were keenly aware of the passage of time. My kids were in high school at the time, and the difference in perspective between our generations was palpable. Rebellion surrounded me, so I needed to showcase the loving connection that’s possible (and even crucial) between people of different generations.
Soon, the Covid-19 pandemic paused our efforts to bring extended families together. But when the worst had passed, we brought the project back. After the impacts of a global pandemic, honoring and cherishing family connections was more important than ever! The experience reminded me that it’s never too soon, or too late, to create portraits that speak to your legacy. Who knows what the future holds?
Celebrate the connection you have with the people who will carry your love and light into the future. The relationships in your life are a beautiful masterpiece, waiting to be captured and honored as art in your home.
What’s the purpose of this project?
Our Generations Portrait Project aims to tell your story for people to behold - both now and in the future. Bringing families together provides important examples of loving connection. Emotional portraits allow people to understand each other better.
Why black and white?
Black and white highlights the sentiment in a portrait. Your story lives within the boundaries of its emotional essence when you eliminate color. The tones of gray, black and white enhance the importance of expressions, posing, and lighting, while your fashion and style choices recede. Black and white transforms an ordinary moment into a striking piece of art.
What’s unique about a Generations session?
Your Generations portrait session is relationship-focused and captured in black and white. The expressions are candid and natural. Your finished wall portraits will highlight the emotional connection, printed and framed to the size that best suits your home.
